DVDs being sent to all roughly 4,600 Delegates and Alternates asking them to vote for Ron Paul!

UNBELIEVABLE! Unless you've been to this blog before - if so, you may have expected this kind of thing! These people are actually going to make a spectacle of our convention, which can only help the Obama/Biden ticket!

A delegate from Arkansas describes his recent delivery of the DVD like this:
Well, I got my Ron Paul DVD for Delegates in the mail today. If you have not heard about it, here is their site - http://www.dvds4delegates.com/

It comes it a well-produced very official looking case with the DVD called “On the Road to Minneapolis – Saint Paul: Republican National Convention.” It is packaged to look like it is from the RNC and contains “very important information for RNC Delegate and Alternatives.” So of course, I immediate popped this in my DVD player to watch. You have to watch for 20 minutes before you know it has anything to do with Ron Paul, although you get suspicion pretty quick. The first 20 minutes is a History Channel/Ken Burns like summary of the Conservative movement with focus on Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan. Then it goes into a 110 minutes of a propagandaish type of case of how Ron Paul is the best thing since Reagan and how we (GOP delegates) are irresponsible to not all vote for and nominate Ron Paul at the Convention in St. Paul.

Obviously, I think these attempts will be futile but it will be something to watch to see if the...

THESE PEOPLE ARE SERIOUS! Here are a few quotes from the website!
"Welcome to the National DVDs for Delegates Project
McCain is NOT an Automatic Nominee!"
"We Will Not Quit !"
"We Can Still Win the GOP Nomination - This Project Will Continue Through the End"
"Fact 1: The convention can still nominate Dr. Paul for the Presidency—even with the “Official Campaign Ending.”"
"But the Fact Remains: There is no law preventing his nomination at that convention, even with the campaign organization closing. We checked with our lawyers. Our chief lawyer was the actual Commissioner and Chair of the Federal Election Commission—he resigned in 2006, so it seems reasonable to trust their judgment on this question."
"Fact 2: There is no law requiring Delegates to vote for the candidate they are “bound” to."

This is something that the Alaska Ron Paul group had already done for their state convention. http://www.ronpauldelegates.info/

The real shame of this is that Ron Paul should be stating loudly and clearly to these people that he does not approve of them using his name to bring ridicule to the party's convention. Does he not understand the point of having a party? Of course most of us did not get the candidate that we wanted, but it's time to act like adults and work with reality. If we don't coalesce behind Sen. McCain, at this point, then we are only helping the Obama/Biden ticket.

Here's another graphic from the site that claims that McCain still hasn't received enough delegates to win the nomination:

**UPDATE** Aug. 28, 5:00pm - A 2nd DVD sent out which includes a video from http://therealmccain.com/
This just in from a Tennessee Delegate:

"They've done it again.

Today I received another DVD, this time REALLY looking official, saying that it included "Convention Rules, Delegate Facts & Convention History, Your Responsibilities Explained, also Party Gatherings, Local Hot Spots & Platform Construction."

The first part was C-span's coverage of the construction at the Excel Center, then a segment from Wolfe Blitzer, then right into a video from therealmccain.com

The cover really looked official, with high quality graphics.

I'm ticked."

Nev. GOP recesses state convention, angering Paul supporters

RENO, Nev. (AP) -- Outmaneuvered by raucous Ron Paul supporters, Nevada Republican Party leaders abruptly shut down their state convention and now must resume the event to complete a list of 31 delegates to the GOP national convention.

Outnumbered supporters of expected Republican presidential nominee John McCain faced off Saturday against well-organized Paul support ers. A large share of the more than 1,300 state convention delegates enabled Paul supporters to get a rule change positioning them for more national convention delegate slots than expected.

"I've seen factions walk out. I've never seen a party walk out," said Jeff Greenspan, regional coordinator for the Paul campaign.

Delegates cheered earlier in the day as former presidential hopeful Mitt Romney urged support for McCain. Later, though, Paul got even louder applause as he delivered his message of individual freedom and fiscal responsibility.

State Sen. Bob Beers, the convention chairman, was booed loudly as he called for a recess Saturday evening. He said that the party's rental contract for a big meeting room at a Reno hotel-casino had expired and there was too much work left to complete.

State GOP Chairwoman Sue Lowden said the rules change wasn't anticipated. She denied any anti-Paul bias, saying expected slates of national delegates were prepared through a fair and open process by the convention's nominations committee and the party thought the convention would accept them.

Missourinet: Republicans warn about Ron Paul supporters crashing caucuses

Missouri Republicans hold county and local caucuses Saturday - and party leadership is warning about rumors regarding followers of former GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul.
Rumors are the Paul followers plan to flood the caucuses and will try to overturn the already established rules regarding how Missouri's delegation will vote at the National Convention in St. Paul this summer. Missouri Republican Party Executive Director Jared Craighead says this is only a rumor, but it's important to get out the word that Missouri's delegates are committed to John McCain.
Craighead says it's unfortunate that there appears to be a campaign underway to give misinformation to those attending caucuses that delegates elected at the congressional district level will be able to change the rules regarding the voting for the presidential nominee. Craighead makes it clear Missouri's delegates are bound to support the winner of the February 5th Presidential Primary - and that was Senator John McCain.

Delegation Update why we need keep building
By jtucker70 April 11, 2008

I have received alot email why I am stressing so much for everyone get a delegate position or alternate.
Well the primary’s are not over for one and McCain is just presumptive nominee. I cant stress that enough. Has of right now McCain only has 814 Delegates Bound to him on first ballot, only 364 Bound on second Ballot and 187 Bound to third ballot. There are about 156 more delegates in remaining primary’s.
I don’t know where MSM gets their numbers but they also show Ron Paul with only 14 delegates. Which is way incorrect. Has about 48 Bound Delegates and about 596 delegates been chossen for National Convention that say they are Ron Paul supporters.
Has we take over conventions we have big voice in National Convention and we could really win it their……Along the way putting in our platform.
And if we could force a fourth Ballot it would really say something that we have a voice. Its just hard for me to imagine that Ron Paul wins majority straw polls and big slide in CD14 and yet media spins he has no support.
I just want mention all those that say hey but people voted and they want McCain.
Rember alot the states Ron Paul did poor in allowed Dem’s and others to vote not to mention hacking of voting machines the changing of the rules after Ron Paul won LA. to give it to Huckabee/McCain.
I just think its so important that we try with all our efforts to be delegates and alternates and find the delegates and get them to vote our way and if we are a bound delegate option to be uncommitted so free vote whom ever also it was proposed to request to not pledge the delegates in Texas has just saying there no need since McCain is presumptive Nominee thats a another good position. Just doing anything to stop McCain getting 1191 votes.

JAMES TUCKER KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!! I think you are right on everything, except there are more delegates still available than you mentioned. I will post a list of all the remaining states that there are and how many delegates each state has to it…
